    D2 no more :-(

Well, my D2 is no more. Bloody eastern grey took it out.
Insurance co. is keeping it and paying me money.
Annoying thing is that it has a Davis 140kW ecu.
There are no I.D markings on it so someone is going to get a nice surprise if they get it.
Another annoying thing is that the insurance co. takes the value of the remaining registration, leaving me to recover it from Vicroads.
    A bit cheeky I thought.

Going to miss it after 390k km

    This is $9500+ damage!!!

You can often buy the wrecked vehicle back from the insurance company.

That's if you wanted to repair it rather than replace it.

Yes, I did think about it Woody, but I have 4 other Landrovers here crying out for TLC. Another major project I don't need.

Thanks Scott, I had better start thinking about what to replace it with.
Not sure I need anything, the Defender is fine, but I have become used to comfort and gadgets.

The ABS saved me though, I had 2 wheels in the gravel and scraped a tree, I would have hit it nose first without the ABS.

    Is it a manual?
I have a spare ecu for a manual. We could swap them over😎

Too late mate...went in to be assessed, when declared total loss it belongs to the ins. company with all accessories fitted. I will only see it again if I buy it back.

They would have got a $1200 HF radio and autotuner if I hadn't removed them. Hard to remove the ecu at short notice :-)

    Also it's an auto.

    Cheers,

Well, the car was gone from the repairers yard the day before I got the phone call.
Assessor talked a lot about how Rover parts are expensive. I reckon they grabbed it for spare panels.

Only if they are listed on the policy. I was at the yard unbolting roof racks, tow controller and other bits from my Patrol while the assessor was there. But for me it was the best way out of a Patrol with 430k on it and now I own a D2!
