Talking to Ben from APT the other day, I happened to mention I used to source my filters from Paddocks spares from England, but the Aussie dollar has made that not so attractive. He said Ford had a centrifical filter that would fit, but the dimensions were not exact, which led to trouble down the track. His advice was use only the original LR cent. filter. However, he put me on to a company called Maxiparts [ used to be Qld Diesel] and a product called Sakura filters, for the oil & fuel filters.

    fuel filter FC-19070
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Hi Bob10, May I suggest you give Mario from Roverlord (Forum Vendor) a buzz next next time? He has a service kit available with 2 options for air filters and 2 options for oil filters. Obviously the the better ones cost more, but the other ones are not cheap crap either.

items - Get great deals on items on eBay Stores!

    Hello,

To carry on with the synthetic oil debate, here is how I understand it with recent information given to me.The chunked down version as I am not the absolute expert on oils.

Mineral based oils come from the ground(I know, derrr) and are adapted for what ever use that they need to be put to.

Synthetic oils are created in a lab soley for their intended purpose and therefore out perform mineral based oils on every level. They are 'next generation' and will always outperform any mineral based oil. They are better.

Blended oils of min/synth can perform with superiority in older motors(such as the TD5) as the new synthetic oils(for diesels) are more so designed to work with new diesel motors with diesel particulate filters fitted.

    Cheers,

    Jason
