Actually the stainless would look good behind a nicely polished set of old chromium Super Cibie Oscars from the 70's....

I reckon if you squint really hard it looks like a Bentley Turbo. LOL
Now seriously all those arbiters of style, you now have to be consistent and get on the D3 /D4 forum and tell them that that their chrome monstrosity grilles are just crap.
The reasons I went for stainless are as follows.
1 greatest void ratio (73%) so the most air gets in while I am towing in hot weather. That is why I picked 0.9 diameter wire, and as it turns out easy to work with.
2 stainless unpainted is easy to clean.
3 The grille will help keep out the bugs as there is nothing stopping them in the standard grille.
4 Not expanded steel mesh as the void ratio would hardly be better than stock (48%) and they will rust and have the paint knocked off.
It really has nothing to do with aesthetics but I think it looks all right.

Mate...see my reply on P1. I am being a pain but would like to see how it looks from further back...cheers
put some fly wire (black) behind it, it will help hide the fan etc and help highlight the silver... added bonus...its made to stop bugs![]()

Digger that would look good but would tend to drastically cut the air flow to the radiator. It would then be a pseudo-saudi grill...
Cheers
OK here is one further back.
