And Phillip like all car companies they are simply not achievable in real life.
And even the inflated official figures are not within a bull's roar of 11L per 1ooKm.
believe me I tried just about everything to get economy from my RRC 3.9 and I very rarely got better than 14-15 per 100km.
    Regards Philip A

None of my vehicles are tuned for economy

But I have seen a couple that have been in my travels.

One quoted sub 10's on the freeway.

I'm as suspicious as you are about that one though...

There's no reason they can't do it, big lazy V8's can just tick over, where small engines need to work. It's all in realising that efficiency.

Possibility is there i suppose...i would need to see it. This all probably reveals what we think about a stocker even without add ons getting 11l per 100k.

I am sure you could build a D2 that gets 11's
but then you couldnt drive it anywhere at legal speeds,,
or tow anything, or go offroad in it,,

and if its all about fuel economy,,
why'd they buy a brick in the first place??

that's quite amazing, I've not read anyone anywhere having figures that low before.
I'm getting 15.5l/100km on my daily commute, which is a 50/50 mix of freeway and stop start highway. (I measure and log full tank to full tank and take the average)
According to my OBD monitor, the engine management generally holds at a UEGO voltage of 0.4v average (ie. equal switching from 0.8 to 0.1v).
My ODB also shows over 10l/100km even cruising at 80kph on a flat road, so no chance of getting near that on a mixed journey.

First post; is that reel I can hear spinning?

Roller rockers (Yella Terra?), Wildcat or Merlin heads and a Mark Adams ECU won't do anything for fuel economy because you'll love the power and won't care!
