    Changed the TD5 engine mounts

A big thank you to Fast Freddie, who provided his place to work on the car, some tools, moral support, and a lot of help in replacing the engine mounts.
I couldn't get to the bottom fuel cooler bolts, my hands are too big, so Freddie did those.
Also thanks to Pohm66 for the "howto" on replacing the mounts.
We took a fair bit of time over the work as we spent far to much time chatting, having a coffee, etc. No big rush as we did want to do a proper job and not break anything by rushing.
The car runs a lot quieter now. the difference is quite substantial. I no longer have the grinding my teeth feeling.
I've put in genuine mounts and I'm not sure I'll be replacing them in 250k time, as I may not have the car then.
It was very satisfying to complete this work.

    Cheers

    Bo

How much were the genuine mounts and from where did you get them.
I'm sure mine have bottomed out and need replacing.

I got to the lower fuel cooler bolts from underneath. Couldn't get my hands and ratchet spanner in from the top.

I found it easier to take the manifold off to do the fpr.
A couple of studs will help to align it. The remove each one and replace with the bolts.

Id do engine mounts anytime over the FPR on a manual just quietly.

If the bloody clutch master cylinder wasn't there it would be heaps easier.

Yes when I did mine I took the manifold off. that also gives you the chance to Gurni the EGR carbon out of the manifold and transfer it to your face and hair.
