If the gas is too low I believe it stops the compressor from working? You'll just get air circulation so shouldn't damage it.
Hey,
We are currently driving across Aust and we just had a 35 degree day the sun was blasting in through the front of the car and the climate control was set to as low as it could go on recirculating but it couldn't cool us down past 35 degrees. The air coming out of the vents was cool but not cold, is there something wrong with the aircon? it has never been regassed in its 11 year life, will I break it if I use it tomorrow on another 35 degree day?
Thanks in advance
Michelle

Go to it young man.
I have Hichill in mine and after 3 years it is still icy.
Drove back from Maitland today and external was 36C and 22C inside.

I would have it checked could be a receiver / dryer issue maybe it was 43 here yesterday but mine was happily blowing ice cold air
