D2 lightbar with front fog light wiring?

    Hi all,
recently received a lightbar and thought instead of drilling holes in my dash and having to route wires, id use the front fog-light switch and wire loom (not hooked up to anything on my S model). I have made sure the necessary fuses and relay are all there, and found the wires near the headlights, but no matter what i do i cant get a voltage reading from them (with a test light and multi meter). Just wondering if there's anything else that would be missing i may have missed? i thought the only things were a switch and relay that i had to buy and insert.

Think you need to enable it with a nanocom or testbook.

Don't you have to have the park lights on to activate fogs?

But I suspect from the previous post, you can reprogram that with a Nanocom.
See if you can get hold of one to try - also a good investment to buy. Cheers

the wiring might be okay. but how do you control the lightbay when switching from high, low, high, beam,I dont think the standard fog lights turn off when going from high to low.

Post #2 of http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...ng-lights.html states the following.

In cases where front fog lamps are fitted, the BCU controls their operation via the IDM. The operation of the front fog lamps is therefore programmable, (using a NANOCOM or similar device) to accommodate the legislative requirements of individual markets.
    The available options are:
    1. The vehicle is not fitted with front fog lamps (NOT FITTED).
    2. The front fog lamps operate when the headlamps are dipped or are on main beam (MAIN).
    3. The front fog lamps will not operate if the headlamps are on main beam (NO MAIN).
You could plug driving lights into the fog light connectors and program "NO MAIN" or "MAIN" but neither would be legal - as driving lights should only be on when high (main) beam is on.
Not sure how many watts the wiring can handle but probably 2 x 55w.

Probably a good place to start checking from.

    Above post is correct.

Light blue wire from light switch/stalk controls high beam. Tap into that to control a relay.

Besides the legality, it's a pain in the arse switching driving lights on/off from anything but the stalk. You'll tire of that pretty quickly,
