Check thermostat is opening by putting it in a pot of boiling water. Easy abd cheap check
Well picked up the D2a from LR Mechanic today, costing nearly 2.5k.
It went there beginning of December. With instructions check oil leaks out and repair any that may be suspect. Also anything else that might cause problems on the way home to Darwin, this being a 6k trip along the east coast and them up from Sunshine coast.
He also had to swap parts over from another D2.
Picked up a Nanocom from Timmy and noticed two things straight away.
1) No Boost. well it has about .7 something until about 2700 to 3000 RPM, then nothing it goes to Zero
2) Runs hot..... The temp gauge sits about 1/2 way. But Nanocom is showing temps over 100. It spiked to about 104, dropping back to 98 if your lucky.
And No oil leaks fixed.
I am now down in Philip Island and will have to try and limp it home. I am running out of time and money.
Tomorrow will be in Foster and who knows after that.....

There is nothing unusual about those temperatures in a Disco2, but I would assume a lack of boost will up the temps.

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
Mechanic was suppose to make safe to get back to Darwin....... Plus add a bullbar etc.
I have checked hoses, couldn't see any splits...
Got more problems tonight...
one more....
I am losing faith in the vehicle real fast.
Travelling with two young children on my own, if something happens I have to look after them. I am wondering if I should turn around to Melbourne and cancel the trip.
I dont have a lot more extra money apart was needed for the trip. Having spent over 2.5k. I was hoping it would be a mostly uneventful.
