Theres something wrong there....
high RPM and low throttle demand should be low temp on the probe...
the concept of flames out the ports is sound in theory but it just shouldnt be happening, I could buy into it more if #1 was loosing some compression out the exhaust valve.
if everything else was mickey mouse about the only thing I can think of that would cause what you're seeing is if it was getting late injections to keep the fire burning. Sometimes its done deliberately to up the exhaust temp/pressure to keep the power up for the turbo without hugely increasing the actual cylinder pressures and temps inside the engine and for doing DPF regen burns.
I'm just not aware of anyone advertising it up on a td5 and given the build and design of the head its not one of the things I'd be doing to a td5 as a means of getting better performance out of the turbo until a whole lot of other things were already done.
