Hey guys,
Just some info because when I looked a couple years ago when I was looking at shock lengths, I couldn't find it.
So I was warned that if I went with too long length shocks, I could tear the end out of the bag since the shock is all that limits travel.
I was also warned that if I use the lifting blocks under the bags they could bottom out internally and break so I should extend my bump stops.
Here you go:
Firstly the base plate fits up into the bottom of the bottom of the bag a little so you will have to take about 2.3 - 2.4mm off the other measurements.
To to bottom extended, I wouldn't go over 440mm.
And I wouldn't compress it under 140mm.
Just remember there will be air bag in between that.
Oh and this is why I changed it.
I was a bit worried because I was one of the official tow vehicles for the NT Mud Races. Lucky I had a spare and it only took about 15 minutes to swap it out.

Nah mate, about 2 years old.
I put them in extended mide and wash them down evey 3 or 4 months too
is it dunlop, mine only lasted a couple of years as well
i was dissapointed as the dunlops replaced the originals
Once they have rolled of the bottom bit i don't think they would roll back on
Yep, They do. I actually had a bit of trouble fitting the new spring. I put it in and turning the ignition on to inflate the spring. In the few seconds by the time I walked back around the passenger side the bag had kinked out the side. I ran back and turned the ignition back off. There was hardly any pressure in the bag and I was able to push it back in straight but before I did that, it was completely off the bottom.
It's a bit like blowing up a rubber glove and then pushing your finger in the end of one of the glove fingers. It just rolls back over your finger.
I was more concerned about the angle the bag meets the base when its at full extension.
Happy Days
U reckon it failed from abrasion in the mud? Overextension or just worn out?
Ps: How's those new shock valves going? Good thing??
