It may be easier to just write the first 5 pics worth of words, adding "see pic 1" etc then add the five pics in order using the "Manage Attachments" software below,,
then go on the second set of five--
To replace the ACE short arm bush(item 9 below) and contrary to RAVE,you do not have to disconnect the hydraulic ram oil feed lines.
The idea is to suspend the hydraulic ram with some wire and disassemble everything with the hydraulic lines still attached.
If someone can tell me how to cut and paste a "how to do it" with pictures from a word file then I can post the procedure I have recorded- simple cut and paste into this dialogue box does not work.

In an extension to this, I need to replace my rear ram...bought one of eBay, nice chap over in Horsley Park called Erich. Now replacing it without being able to bleed it is my issue, I don't have the expensive diagnostic machine to bleed the system so therefore want to know if I can replace and top up the lost fluid, then drive it to my local garage and get them to bleed it?
Plus do I need a special socket to remove the spindle end of the ram?
Yes to stop the spindle turning you will need something. If you are removing the ram completely you can hold the flattened end of the shaft with long nose vice grips or make up a tool like the one attached. If you try without then the boot will twist and become destroyed. They are expensive.
Alternatively use what I have attached. It is a some old tool for plumping or spark plug removing with an 18-19mm socket and a 14mm bolt cut a slotted to 6mm. I found them with all the junk I keep laying around - but bunnings would have them.
The actual nut size holding the spindle is 18mm howerver the old pressed metal socket tool was somewhere between 18-19 due to chinese origin.
I sent the entire " how to " to david blears in PDF and am waiting for him to upload.
Regarding the brackets which hold the torsion bar - because the bolts are taptite you can easily miss thread them and damage the female welding nut. When you get them off, elongate the hole as shown and the bolt will go in without frustration.

Slightly Elongated hole in the torsion bar brackets for easy reaassemblyand to avoid cross threading - using rat tail file.
Hint - These brackets are reattached by rotating into place and clamping home with vice grips. Then when the bolt hole is perfectly aligned you should be able to run the bolt in several turns by fingers -- if you go straight for the socket/ air gun you will cross thread it. This bolt is duo taptite. That is the shaft is trilobular and will recut a thread. Use some anti seize lunricant as well.

Thanks for the advice, sure to come in handy. Any thoughts on the bleeding issue I have?
Sorry but I have never done this. The procedure is somewhere on AULRO and you will have to appeal for someone to come over with their Nanaocom.
Better still buy your own - there is currently a 20% discount group buy on and you can get it landed for $434 - which is a bargain for the quality of the device. It will pay for itself over and over in troubleshooting. I have one for my sons D2 and one for my other D2. It has returned on the investment several times over.
Go to Nanocom Group Buy
You need to be elligible as per the criteria of membership with AULRO - if not start a new thread to see if someone in your area can get you one whilst the discount lasts
