What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

It is also there to stop fuel siphoning out when at extreme angles. If the fuel can enter the pipe it can siphon . The high loop is to ensure the fuel level never rises above the highest point of the vent.

I used to have a problem with a fuel tank which resided in the RH inside of the boot of my 77 RRC . I ended having to place the vent at the very top of the black C pillar to prevent fuel running out when at extreme angles.

So make sure you replicate the loop.

It's always worth getting out the tape measure to see if the pump assembly will reach the bottom of the replacement tank. Rubber seal rings can be trimmed if they are too thick to seat the pump properly. Curly breather pipes are there to allow a bit of flex between chassis mounted tanks and body mounted accessories. Rubber hose should be an adequate replacement.

Lock with key if you don’t want the internal sensors on.
Ours did this - worked out it was the fridge occasionally causing a resonance in the cabin setting it off.

Or you can disable volumetric sensors in a diagnostic tool.

This is the 1st time I’ve done a fuel pump. I remember the spring load when I pulled it out but I don’t remember a similar thing when I put it back in.

I went fit the BD tank because they offer a 55lt aux tank in the right quarter if needed giving 200lt total.

I know right. The only confusing thing in the instructions related to the fuel pump. The instructions say to discard the big rubbery seal thing that seals the pump to the original tank in favour for the supplied O ring.


I have a Long Ranger and i didn`t like the o ring set up and just used the original OE seal with no issues [thumbsupbig]

It wasn't the alarm going off it was the Main horns going full bore, I pulled the fuse.

when the alarm goes off, the horn sounds. at least it does on mine.
