Most socket sets have the 12 point type sockets, so almost certainly you have the correct tools. <br>

I have a nice 3/8 drive Kinchrome socket set(called Lock On), nice sockets strong and they do as advertised(ie. the additional grip), but they're 6 point sockets. Dunno if they come in 12point types tho.

<br><br>Thanks all for the pointers, All sorted,&nbsp;<br><br>used my 19 mm sidchrome socket. &nbsp;Things definitely look different in daylight. &nbsp;Removed the caliper and then the disc to gain access to the dust shield. Bottom bolt had snapped off . &nbsp;No easy outs so will need to get fixed I a couple of weeks when Chaffy goes in for a check over and another 10000 k service. Fixed for now with a zip tyre to stop the rattling. All put back to gether. My new windscreen also went in today. Great to have a clear view again.&nbsp;<br><br>Chaffy is driving like a new one again&nbsp;<img src="https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/smilies/Grin.png" border="0" alt="" title="BigGrin" smilieid="301" class="inlineimg"><br><br>cheers Chris

Tank is in. Yes it’s a bit lower but that’s expected with an extra 50lt. I’ve got SLS so the extra few inches of lift should compensate for the tank (I hope!)

Daisy got a new air filter, fuel filter and centripital,oil filter. Tomorrow the full flow flow oil filter, diff oils. transfer case and gear box oil gets changed.

Not sure exactly as I didn’t take a before pic. I think it’s about 2” below the chassis rail at its lowest point.

I can’t help but question whether quantity or a better fuel pick up system is better. For example. I finished fitting it and put in 20lt (that’s all I had) of fuel. It wouldn’t prime. Obviously the 20lt is for ballast rather than actual usable quantity. This makes me think that I’ve actually got 120lt instead of 140lt.

Maybe a design where the fuel pump sits in a recess would be better. The car was slightly nose down the driveway at the time so I don’t know if that plays any part or not. I added another 60lt and it primed in minutes. Still more fuel than I had & hopefully enough to cross Madigans Line in a couple of weeks.

I know right. The only confusing thing in the instructions related to the fuel pump. The instructions say to discard the big rubbery seal thing that seals the pump to the original tank in favour for the supplied O ring. But there’s no o ring either in the kit or in the packaging list. So I used the original seal, resulting in me having lots of trouble fitting the retaining ring. I’ll give BD a call on Monday to ask. I’m wondering if using the original seal results in the pump sitting up 10mm or so higher than planned.

The other PITA issue is the supplied 1/4 x 1/4bsp barb for the tank vent - this car has a 10mm PVC vent not 1/4”. A quick trip to pirtek fixed the problem with a 10mm x 1/4bsp push fitting- I love push fitting theyre great! The retarded LR engineers did however think that the vent needed to have a 360 degree loop bent in the PVC for no other reason than to annoy me. Do I figured that I’d heat it up and straighten it (needed an extra 2” of tube) - it snapped in half! Another trip to pirtek.

The fuel pump should have spring tension when fitted.
Ie , you have to push it down as you do up the screws on the mount.
If it has tension then the pick up is at the bottom of the tank, if not then it is not at the bottom.

My Long Ranger has tension.
I have to say it looks a lot lower than my tank, but mine is 130L plus 20 in the RH quarter panel.

The loop in the vent tube is designed to work as an "air lock" much the same as used on a home brew kit.
It is there to help prevent moisture ingress into the fuel tank[thumbsupbig]
