What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Well after a couple of months with a bung shoulder, the battery went flat!!! Had a replacement for the Electric Water Pump (under warranty so thanks Davies Craig) to fit and of course, then the key didn't want to open the drivers door.

Lucky for me I can get access through the tailgate but had to get son 1 over to lift the fridge out to get to the back door open and then the front door. 10 minutes to fit the replacement EWP and battery on charge. Ordered some new tyres as although they are about 30-40% had a second one go flat with no obvious leak and they are getting old now. Choose the BF Goodrich HD Terrain which are between a AT and Muddy or so called hybrid. 6 year guarantee seems alright as well. Fitting them later this week.

Keen to hear what you think of the HDTerrain. I worry that they will be a very stiff riding tyre, but they look like they’d be a good product.

Anyone know where to find oem spring style hose clamps from? and know all the sizes needed for all water pathways?

I want to delete all worm gear clamps.

I don't know if you can buy them. If you buy genuine hoses they come with them.

Otherwise, try a LR wrecker

Hard work? I need to replace all that and the bushes on the front end, any special tools to make the job easy?

Driving home in torrential rain from the central plateau in New Zealand couple days ago the ace warning light started flashing red and beeping , hoping to find somewhere sheltered to pull over and pop the bonnet I kept driving. Fault code on nano:
Fault 18-04
HYDRAULIC OR MECHANIC FAULT IN PRESSURE CONTROL SYSTEM

Cleared it to stop the beeping , it shortly came back on so I pulled over and checked the reservoir in the pouring rain - still full and still swirling so I cleared the code again and kept driving knowing a gas station was about twenty away where I could check properly and stay dry while doing so. Fault code stayed off till then, had another look under the bonnet, and reservoir still same as before. Tried to eyeball the actuators but everything so wet couldn’t determine much.

After another 30mins it came back on but this time amber, reservoir still full still swirly, so I pulled the relay just in case there was some leak in the piping somewhere and drove the rest of the way home.

The suns back , and have degreased the pipe work and washed it up and put relay back in and monitoring reservoir level and actuators and pipe work for leaks. So far no drop in fluid level, no leaks and no warning lights popping back up.

Wondering if it was just the crazy rain that got in somewhere? Will keep monitoring

Oh and replaced fuel filter

The seals are easy enough. You don't need to take the axle out of the hub assembly, the hub and axle can come out as one ( The axle nut is like a gazillion Nm torque, so not undoing it is good....). A seal puller helps. I haven't done the bushes, but I did do the ball joints[bigsad]. They are a pig.

So, wheel off, calliper off, disk, then the four bolts for the hub. Mine were tight, loctite probably, use some when you put them back. Hex key for the ABS sensor, 4 or 5 mm, can't remember. Axle/CV comes out through the knuckle with a little patience. I did a CV boot while I was at it. Only had one,,,,, found the other one needs doing too so I'll be taking that one off again soon. Got the 3 Amigos now so probably need to clean the ABS sensor so it can all happen at once. Again....

Injector harness. I like to treat this as a service item now.

Trying to fix the diagnostic plug.... grrrr.

Check out the Davis Performance ones. They're sealed, so once its done then you can forget about them.
