Fitted an RHF brand mobile phone antenna and Smoothtalker cradle for my s7. I also have a Telstra phone with patch lead and physical connection. Both the cradle and patch lead increase reception by 2 plus bars on both phones so well worth it. Cable runs inside A Pillar finisher. Wonder if they make a connector/swingdown that can be fixed to the gutter rather than the surf racks?

Gavin they do. The mount shown is a gutter mount but it didn't fit well in the fat D2 gutter so I modded it to fit on the end of the Rhino rail. It is bolted with a T bolt from the bottom and pinned with a bolt in the top through the rail (and I snapped the head off so nothing protrudes). Cheers

Gav, I bolted it (exact same, base spring and all!) to the roof of the van,, ;)

What's on the other end of the antenna? How does the signal get to the phone?

Cable to passive antenna on cradle and patch lead for Telstra branded phone that has an antenna port (unlike the smart phones). Cheers

Installed my Uniden UH7700NB. Went the roof console option using the sunroof power.

Mounted the bracket for the UHF. This model allows you to flip display so that the speaker points down. Very handy!

Ran my antenna down the A trim and through the door rubber grommet. Then mounted antena in the bonnet gutter.
