Just to see how it fits. The provided bolts look very small. I'll drill the holes and fit on the weekend.

I just went under the car to see how easy, or not it was to fit. Ended up bolting it into place. Very easy to fit.

Boost was about 22lbs.
My MAF scale and MAP scale in the ECU was adjusted to the highest tolerance by a member of this forum.
My Chinese MAF seems to work well still with good changes at what I consider OK shift points. When I first got the car 8 years ago I had MAF drop out problems at full boost of then only 15-18 lbs lbs so I know what it feels like.

No , I am very familiar with low airflow/ low boost effects as when I bought the van and was driving along the Hume I suddenly saw high EGTs and low boost while just cruising along. After some investigation concerning my manual boost controller I reattached the factory modulator , then found the problem to be that the wastegate rod had unwound itself. Weird for it to happen suddenly.Quote:

In addition once a few years ago I was coming down the M1 from Byron when suddenly I started having boost cut even though then I was only running 18PSI. I noticed I was getting 28PSI momentarily. While I could keep it out of cutoff by careful application of accelerator I noticed that the EGTs were down considerably. On that occasion it was a burst hose to the modulator.
Anyway I am confident that I have very good airflow and boost at 22PSI, and I have lots of power.
But the fact is you can only get so much power from a 2.5 litre engine pulling 3900Kg without high EGTs that is not running common rail.
I don't know whether later maps than mine lower EGTs more but I am not prepared to pay heaps to find out as I can manage my EGTs below 700C by changing gear and easing off a bit.

Reset the front diff today, filled both with Mineral oil (they each took just under 2 litres - Slooooowwwwwlyyyyy - which seemed a little more than I expected), greased up then bolted up the utah driveshaft, then the rechecking of the SLS. Turns out the little O rings in the lines at the compressor end had had an end of life ritual. Replaced the unit with the one in the original compressor unit, gave it new O rings and joy of joys, the rear end rose and stayed stable. Check the extra height facility and it rose a little more than the 40mm but sat nicely.
It definitely requires extensions to the rear brake lines as they were at full stretch with a whole lot of travel to go. Will get this done and a full change of fluids.
Test drive with the double ended ATB and it was noticeable the steering was much firmer and tracked straighter with the centering effect quite discernable. Not uncomfortable but for mine reassuring that the thing was working. The bite of the yellow stuff pads was also a surprise (had already installed the rears), was almost car like and they haven't been bedded in yet, glad to have have taken the advice on Aulro re these.
We spent some time looking at how to fit a larger air snorkel. Thoughts along the line of 4 inch along the body (obviously requires a cut out) and windscreen pillar and modifying the current air inlet to a 3 inch with a cut out on the side of the box where it currently enters and using a silicone pipe 4" reducing to 3" through the body work. It is so tight there that any good flow through the snorkel to reduce the effect of parasitic flow will require a quite a large cutout from the engine bay. Suppose the one thing we agreed on was it would be better to remove the panel first before making solid plans and the snorkel length may be better on a angle from the current inlet up to the A Pillar - why does it have sit level???
