Attachment 193934 Brushes and slip ring from CoolDrive Auto parts , Jaylec is their house brand, regulator was ok so didn't ask about stock/price
Attachment 193935 Have to dig a bunch of epoxy out to get to the crimps
Attachment 193936 Attachment 193937 no getting away with just a brush changeover
Attachment 193938 Attachment 193939 Basically split slip ring open with sharpened screwdriver and dug epoxy out of wire guide channels
Attachment 193940 With some careful surgery I was able to cut the folded over leads from the slip ring off of the rotor wires, this is actual length I didn't mess up and cut them short, you just don't get much to play with
Attachment 193941 New slip ring assy on, soldered and high temp clear epoxy, just before 9pm then inside to make din dins and watch telly while it dried
Attachment 193942 About 11.30ish I got out and started re assembly, tired so was very slow and methodical and had D2 all stitched up about 2am, started up with a cold voltage reading of 14.5 so much better than 11.6 and red battery light on.
Test spin was today around lunch time out on sturt highway, as it warmed up voltage went to about 13.9
No assembly pics as I was concentrating on not having any spare alternator bits left over!
