I probably could but then who would tow my boat?
As we will be taking a 20' caravan and an 18' boat with us on the "Big Lap" So we need to use 2x 4X4's to do the job.
My D2a is more than capable of towing and bush/beach launching 1.5T of boat and it will do it with a much higher degree of comfort than the Cruiser.
The Missus is a very experienced/careful driver and she will have absolutely No problems towing the 20' van with the big Landcruiser and she is used to driving an "Agricultural" style truck anyway after driving Hilux's for the last 20 years.

That’s probably right, I paid about that for parts, labour charge is probably ballpark too, accounting for Land Rover shenanigans. Smooth and trouble free job I’d say 2.5-3 hours from drive in to drive out?

I have used the Williams Boys to get all my exhaust and brake work done on various vehicles for the last 20 years and they have never ripped me off before and their work has always been Top Notch.
I did think that $1,500 was a bit "Steep" But considering that the cost of most parts for Landrovers is usually highly inflated the quote is understandable.
As long as I end up with a set of brakes that are 100% effective before we head off on the "Big Lap" $1,500 isn't that much to pay for reliability especially now that I have upgraded the boat from a 12' Tinny to an 18' cruiser.
I put new pads and had the rotors machined 3 years and 50,000K's ago so I have had a pretty good run out of the old brakes But I am better off biting the bullet now and getting everything at 100% and expertly fitted than paying through the nose for the same job in the middle of nowhere if they fail on me,

That's about as good a summary as can be made!

Price for labour sounds about right when the right folk do it.

I just had the rear pads and rotors done on the Defender for $550, but that was standard, not HD, so for HD all round your quote may be OK.
