And you need to use a holesaw on the bellhousing with the new V8 TC so you have access to the bolts.

I just preferred the thought of the hybrid version, V8 size, brazed/billet internals with the bolt pattern to suit the TD5 flexplate.

That's my hope, so I may not have to go oversized with the cooler.

I don't think it'd matter all that much either way, especially if you've already got the heavy duty flex plate.

Totally agree, you won't need another cooler with the bigger converter, with the addendum that you keep in lock up when you can and don't spend every day pulling 3.5 tonne in mountainous area's.
I know you have mechanical sympathy Rick

I think Johnp38 fitted it without drilling the bellhousing.
    Can be done but....patience grasshopper

I ( and I think Epic Dragon ) have this unit, had mine for a couple of years and love it.
Even the offline mapping via Android auto has surprised when on goat tracks in the Kimberly / Pilbara.
Send me a P.M. if you want to know how to integrate the factory steering wheel controls if you have them.

All my steering wheel controls have full function but thanks for the offer. I would be keen to know more about mapping though 👍

Not sure which flavour phone but will be similar.
bear in mind Google maps but it's been accurate in some really remote spots.
Assuming you have already got the Android Auto or Carplay App on your phone.

    Google maps>profile>offline maps>select map>download.

Edit: Forgot to say Android auto supports, WAZE, HERE We Go maps as well as Sygic if Google maps are not your flavour

    or
Td5 HD Torque Converter with Fitting Kit £760.00

I'm just not sure why you wouldn't buy a V8 TC and fitting kit (£350.00) over a Td5 Torque Converter with Fitting Kit (£760.00). All of these appear to be 4 bolt.
So the conversation went like this:

    Hi Dave and team,

I just had a question regarding the Td5 Torque converter options on your website.

    Torque Converters – Ashcroft Transmissions

    On it you have listed:

    Torque Converter £190.00,
Td5 HD Torque Converter Fitting Kit £160.00
Td5 HD Torque Converter with Fitting Kit £760.00

I thought that the Td5 HD torque converter was a V8 torque converter, but the it seems the Td5 HD Torque Converter is a fair bit more expensive while still using the 4bolt pattern to the flex plate. I may be wrong here.

I was just wondering what the differences were betweem using a V8 torque converter and Fitting kit, and using the Td5 HD Torque converter and Fitting kit?
