    REMOVE THE HEAT SHIELD?

I have seen advice before re removing the heat shield.

I would NOT recommend doing that, as I did it and set the bonnet noise/heat blanket alight!

I was towing a caravan up a hill and the heat build up was obviously too much.

    Regards

    Mike

The transfer case takes 2 litres to refill, or 2.3 litres from full, you may want to put some more in.
As for the drain plug, maybe it was lock tighted.

I'm topping up the TC today. Hoping it won't take too much. I guess the proper thing to do is find out where it's leaking. So much "wet" not easy to pinpoint the source(s).
