You will need a winch cradle. The winch on vehicles with air bags mounts this way, not directly to the bull bar. The same mounting holes for the bull bar are also used to hold the cradle. You will be restricted to a low mount winch. The bull bar you have now should hopefully have a slot for the cable or rope to pass through. I will be, when I get the shed sorted, fitting up a bull bar and winch to my DIscovery 1 .

Incorrect. I have a D1 and D2 both with SRS. Both have an ARB bar. On the D1 the winch mounts to a cradle which is bolted to the chassis.

On the D2 it is mounted directly to the bull bar, same as an older non SRS vehicle.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

what d2dave says makes sense. If it was chassis mounted behind the bar it would interfere with the crumple zone that the SRS require to trigger, Not an issue in an early D1.

Hello, any cahnce you could post a photo? and what winch do you have? I'm guessing you have to cut out a hole in the bar?

I have an ARB Deluxe bar on my D2a. No cutting required for a low mount winch. The Deluxe bar is SRS and winch compatible.

I've got a Runva 11XP Premium winch fitted. I did buy the addition ARB spaced and offset hawse mount.
