    Passenger Window

    Hi Guys,

    Hopefully somebody can help.

Passenger window will go down but not back up. When pushing the up button only get a click coming from the BCU.

Pulled the door apart and reversed the wires to the window motor and now the window will go up but not down. Same click from BCU.

    I've checked the fuses.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

The fact that it goes one way means that the circuit between the BCU and motor is good cos the wires are the same just the BCU changes polarity , release the motor from the regulator and check so...if the motor refuses to work both ways IMO it means that the problem is within the BCU but if it works free it means the regulator is phucked

    while the doors apart,
ensure the glass rollers/slides are in good nick and lube with something that doesnt attract dust.
    Dont use WD40!

sounds like one little nylon roller has broken.......it isn't a really difficult job , just one of those annoying ones.

you will probably find the driver door window will go soon too....it's just old age

    Thanks for your help guys.

I've got hold of known good regulator and motor and plugged it in; exact same symptoms.

So I guess it either the switch or the BCU. If it's the BCU is it fixable or is there a workaround?

    Cheers

no, they are a sealed alloy box.
just buy another one and cross your fingers.

oh and you'll have to sync it to your car.

It's fixable by knowledgeable electronist provided it's a dry joint or visible interruption within it not some integrated circuit(even then but hard), it can be opened without probs cos it's casing is held by screws.... that's how it looks

if it was the switch you shouldnt have heard anything on the non working command but you said you hear a click from the BCU so it seems like internal interruption between the micro-relay and output to plug
