    curious ABS pump activity

My D2 is not my daily driver and only gets taken out once a month or so for camping or day trips. I've noticed this year when braking and bring the D2 to a stop such as at traffic lights or parking the ABS pump can be heard activating briefly. It'll do it 2 out of 5 stops.

Over a year ago I had installed braided brakelines in the hope that it would firm up my pedal (it did marginally) and at the time did the 1 man bleed trick by remotely activating the ABS pump to push the fluid through, brake fluid level is always good and doesn't ever need top ups, and i get no fault warning lights just that brief little buzz sound as you pull up and stop. Tyre pressures "look" all okay but I'll dash out and check when i post this.

checked the tyre pressures and they're all identical

    Any ideas anyone....?

PS: I plan to do a pressure bleed and have assembled a diy pressure canister and are working out a solution to cap and pressure seal the brake fluid reservoir.

Have you ever had any of the hubs replaced?

Some aftermarket hubs are known to have the incorrect number of slots causing TC and ABS issues.

Thanks for your input kelvo, they're all original hubs. I plan to do a pressure bleed then do the HDC trick to thoroughly bleed the ABS unit then pressure bleed again and see where that gets us to..

Are you sure its the ABS pump?

Could it be the ACE activating? - I had an ACE fault that would usually come up under braking.

    Air bag pump?

Also, I dont see how tyre pressure could cause a problem, a flat tyre would still have the same rolling diamater.

    Cheers

Ah! you could be right about ACE, and i have no air supension.

I gotta say I'm really not certain about wheel speeds differing at different inflation pressures - however re your last point about rolling diameter of flat vs fully inflated tyres, perhaps you meant to say circumference..

V8? There seems to be a servo in the air con unit that activates when mine comes to a stop, assuming it's activated by manifold vacuum.
