I'm pretty sure I replaced that hose on mine with a length of standard coolant hose of the correct diameter and screw clips in Innamincka many years ago.
So this happened today, no real excuse my wife was driving but i should have heard the problem quicker.
I first thought exhaust manifold gasket from the noise and lack of power but it turns out the egr delete plate previous owner had done from the exhaust manifold dropped a bolt.
We were really close to a supercheap so i decided to idle it it there. Burnt knuckles and new bolt
Turns out the the main engine cover had acted as a hot exhaust gas funnel and cooked the electrical tape on that wiring for what?, half the plug from the thermostat i think and we noticed it was dropping coolant all of a sudden.
It wasnt dropping too quick so crawled it back home and found this leak, its the line going from the egr cooler to the coolant overflow tank, was dropping on to fan pulleys and spreading
Now its booked in on tuesday for a full service at a specialist land rover mechanic 1 hour drive away.
Is there a quick patch/glue/sealant fix to that cooler line to get it there?
I put a smear of waterproof gasket goo and some tape and thats plugged it up sitting in the drive way i think.
Or should i buy another line and replace and dump the coolant ? If its this option can i get away with using a hose from the local supercheap?
Kicking myself for not hearing it sooner but it could be worse, ive blown a xr5 turbo focus up by losing a cooling line without knowing it.
I ordered the engine saver mod last friday night too..

I recently removed the cooler and associated hoses completely - couldn't see the point in still having it there when the EGR bypass had been fitted. Less places for leaks to develop without it.
Short term fix to remain mobile would be to disconnect the two hoses at the cooler and crimp them back with some tie wire or cable ties to seal them off.

Sweet thanks guysI grabbed some coolant line hose after work the right diameter and just replaced the top hose. Looks all good . I think next time i do a full coolant flush at home ill get rid of the egr cooler and hoses completely. Thanks again
