    Emergency Gone into Superlock?

Morning all. Car running like a dream last night. Stopped out the front. Locked the car.

This morning it wont unlock. Thought it might be the remote battery. Nope. RACV thinks its gone into Superlock. I cant get into the car, The battery is fine and certainly hasnt been showing any signs of being on its way out. RACV tried connecting power to the starter but that didnt help either.

Ideas on how I can get into the car and then get going?

If RACQ can open the bonnet latch you can disconnect battery and then reconnect. This sometimes works on a D3

Dis you try to use the fob again after the key was used in the lock?, this should wake up the BCU if it's stuck in sleep mode. even if it's superlocked by unlocking twice with the key it should open just that stays immobilised and for that you need EKA if the roof receiver is gone or the fob doesnt work for another reason

    Solved it.

Its a bit involved, so pay attention.

Force a long stick, rod, whatever through the passenger side door. We used one of those pump up expansion things that you can get from Bunnings and a long steel rod. Use that to press and hold the dashboard door release (the switch releases in the up position). At the same time press your unlock button on the remote.

Seconds later your world will return to normal. I hope this helps someone in the future, It drove me mad this morning.

    Good luck.

No, I bought the car a year ago. Don't know what that is.

I fixed it anyway but had a very dead car this morning.

    Thanks for the reply.

Nope that didnt work either, but (I think) only because the door lock key inserted, dosent seem to work. I'll have to pull the trim off and see why.

I ended up solving it in a very interesting way, so I'm all good now.

    Thanks for the reply.

If the car WAS in super lock that wouldn't work as I found out one day when SWMBO left the hand brake partially on,and smoke enveloped the car.
She's locked the car while removing the key from the ignition, and the button on the dash does not then work.
Cue panicking passengers as all the doors are locked and smoke everywhere.
I just then unlocked using the fob and we all got out, only to find no problem.

The handbrake works better now also.
One day we will look back and laugh but not yet,as still a bit tender.

    Regards Philip A
