maybe that small lift was enough to underfill it?
I hear overfilling a small amount is ok,, but that means the small lift must be in the correct direction,, on the side of the filler hole.
I've been using R2D2 as daily run around lately and found when i knock off work and hop in,start up, and go to reverse,it's very sluggish for the first 30sec's then it's fine. I don't have a problem in the morning as i start it and leave idling while i open the gates. Have changed Tranny oil and filter not long ago using Penrite, still need to do a 2nd change thou. No leaks, and filled while it was running, the front was also raised a bit to make it easier to crawl under at the time. Any ideas?

when cold the td5 auto is always a reluctant thing.
I used to start it and knock the tc into neutral and engage the transmission and go up and down thru the gears including reverse a few times, just 30 odd secs of this gets all the fluid moving valves operating and torque converter as well.
this became a standard part of my daily startup.
in approx 350,000km did not have a transmission hiccup.
Lots of reasons for this, leakingg valve body seperation plate gasket, worn or leaking pump housing, leak at the pickup O ring... the list goes on and on.
I wouldn't be too concerned at this point, although if it get worse it will be worth looking at.
Any 4hp22/22e trans approaching 200K is close to these and worse issues occurring IME

Hi Peter,
I know you filled with the engine running but did you run through the gear positions as you filled the trans? If not it may have left it short.

Funny my 2002 D2 Auto with 179Kk shifts instantly to reverse and has no sluggishness at all while cold.(at temps down to say 12C)
Part of it may be that I use Castrol Transmax Z which has a lower cold viscosity than Dex 3
On the PDS Castrol state " outstanding cold flow properties giving high protection to transmission especially at start up"
Maybe too late for the Op but IMHO can and will prolong trans life. My RRC had 240Kk on when I sold it and the transmission was perfect despite lots of towing in very hot conditions.( and a rear output shaft of the Borg Warner ready to fail indicative of work)
It had Transmax Z changed at about 30Kk intervals from about 70KK onwards. Expensive but not as expensive as a transmission.
