    d1transfer case

    Hi all will a disco 1 transfer case fit into a disco 2 as well as the hi/lo leaver do they have the same gearing as a d2 transfer case.

    yep, but you need to cross bolt some bits.

    When I did the opposite an put a D2 transfer into a D1, I had to use the D1 speedo housing on the D2 box , so you would have to do the opposite.

    Electric speedo vs mechanical speedo i'm assuming.

    I don't believe there is a difference in ratio between the auto and manual either, so that should make it easier to find.

    D2 uses The abs sensors for speed readings , so no transducer in the transfer case at all
