    Coolant leak V8 D2

So having all but stopped various oil leaks and servicing the old girl she decided to start leaking coolant.
It's possible that it was leaking before but i couldn't see it because of all the old oil on the engine. I now have a pink trail that is coming from behind the ACE pump/ aircon/ PAS pump.
I think it's coming from the head gasket but can't really tell because of the pumps. I'd like to take them off and run it but I'm scared I may damage it further because the water pump won't be running.
It's a very slight leak but it's a leak I'd like to stop. Is it worth putting an additive in the coolant before I go down the route of replacing the head gaskets?
    Anyone recommend any particular additive?

There is a small hose connection in there, its vertical and very hard to see,,
above the main water outlet and next to the water temp probe,,

If you mean the one that goes to the throttle body then it's not that, it did leak but I've cured that!
This bloody OAT stuff makes leaks!

There is a small hose underneath that. Under the A/C compressor.

Thats where mine sprung a leak. Easy to fix but need to unbolt the Compressor to move it out of the way!

I think that's the one we're talking about. It goes to the throttle body or back to the expansion tank if the throttle body has been disconnected.

Not sure if yours is the same, but we determined ours to be the water pump. Kept leaving a little pool of coolant just below the valley cover, we were sure it was coming from above somewhere. Took a couple of weeks to actually identify, but what I did was clean off the small area where it pooled, about the size of a 10c piece. When the car brought up to temp, with a little clear water there you could just see a small and I mean tiny trickle of coolant coming from the back, gasket area of the water pump. Seemed to leak worse once engine shut off and then partially seal again. new water pump arrived Monday and will be going in next week. We thought the same head or maybe one of the connections in the valley cover area. may not be your issue but is the most likely.
    Cheers

That did leak, just took the air con pump off and put a new hose clamp on it.
