Accelerator potentiometer ??
Hey guys just picked up another Td5 to add to the collection and having an issue with it Bunny hopping under a little bit of load.
The Waste gate controller is moving freely, which is what I initially thought was the issue.
Any one have any other ideas on what it may be.

If you haven't adjusted the rod off the actuator , then it could be the boost controller , bypass it for now to diagnose if you don't have a scan tool , run the line direct from the intercooler pipe to the wastegate actuator, after going for a run if its not bunnyhopping you'll want to shorten the rod by around 4 turns to compensate till you get a new one , just check closely, the hoses to and from the controller to make sure they're not split or holed first
No, you can't turn it off ,but you can use it to see if overboosting is the problem. 1.4 bar is max , so if you're seeing above that , then see my previous post, use the peak symbol on the nanocom to record the highest reading
We had bunny hopping on a customers car when he applied throttle around 3000rpms, and put load on ie on inclines, hills etc it turned out to be the waste gate modulator, replaced it and it fixed the problem.
Cheers,
Mario
Thanks guys for all the help.
And the winner was Discorevy. Lol
I bypassed the Wastegate (Boost) Modulator thingy and it has rectified the problem.
Cheers once again for all the advice.
You'll want to get a replacement ,boost, ( waste gate ) modulator ,controller,( one and the same ) , Mario was right as well , in fact he'll sell you a new one![]()
Typically the nanocom will have a sawtooth pattern for the MAF for an overboost.
