    Terratrip

Hi, looking at transferring my Terratrip into my D2 TD5 is there an output from the ECU i can tap into for speed sensing pulses? Anyone fitted one before, where did you mount it?

    speedo feed

I used to run a MONIT trip computer in my old D2a. I sourced the speedo pulse signal from the wire feed directly behind the instrument binnacle. Sorry I can't remember which colour wire now.

Just be aware that the D2 computer sends a base test pulse once per second, which is not an issue when moving, but when stopped the test pulse will continue. I built a cut out switch so I could turn off the signal when stopped. The test pulse would be enough to click over a 10m increment about every 10 seconds when stationary.

I had the Monit mounted on top of the dash where the removable rubber tray is, but it is a fair bit smaller than a Terratrip.

Why the Terratrip, for rallying or work purposes??

    Cheers,
    Chris

Thanks Chris, i'll have look and see what it does, should be easy enough to make a gate to turn it of when stationary. Using it for track setup for club events, had been using my Volvo but it's off road for a rebuild for a while. Worked on Stages for Rally SA recently and heading of to Coff's in the Disco for the WRC in a fortnight.
