SLS Suspension won't lift for off road clearance

My compressor was getting very noisy and I expected it to die very quickly. Fortunately some kind soul gave me one they had after swapping to springs. It just wouldn't be a Disco if it was as easy as swapping the compressors over.
When I fitted the replacement it blew the fuse so I took it off and separated the motor from the compressor and it was seized from getting sand and water in it. I was able to clean it up and free the bearing but the reed on the piston had broken off.
I managed to bastardise the two motors together to make one good one and used my old compressor because I feared that the beads in the drying compartment might be still wet in the replacement compressor.
Test ran it off the motor and it was sweet and very quiet, almost silent. Fit it back on and started her up and up it rose, majestic, job done.
Again, that would be too easy. When I tried to get in to pump up for the extra off road clearance the light on the dash flashed but it doesn't pump up any higher.
When I drive over 30kph the audible alarm to say it's lowering from the off road height beeps but as it hasn't pumped up, it doesn't go down.
Any ideas? It worked perfectly before.

Did the Off Road Mode light just flash a few times then stay off? Or did it flash then stay on, as it should when extended height is reached?
If you don't have all the doors closed, it won't work.

The light just kept flashing and flashing and flashing.
The compressor doesn't work at all with doors open, not just for extended height but yes all doors were closed.
I was wondering if it has kicked up a fault as it's controlled by SLABS and a quick reset maybe in order.

You could be right about resetting any faults. To state the obvious a a Nanocom would be handy.
I suppose you've tried locking her up an starting again.

Initially I thought it may have a thermal cut out as it had to pump up both bags from flat and it might have got too hot, so yeah I let it settle for an hour and retried but nothing

Well it maybe a thermal cut out as I've just gone out and tried it again and up she went without any issue at all. Went back down when I pressed the button again and then back up so all is good
