    v8 engine removal

    Can you remove a discovery 2 v8 engine with auto gearbox and transfer case attached.

    Probably could if you cut the front of the vehicle out and slide the whole assembly forward through the newly created opening.
    Or if you had a gantry and could like the whole body off and then wheel the chassis out from under it, then once the chassis is out then remove the assembly as one with balanced lifting gear.

    I removed the gearbox first and am about to remove the engine. There is a lifting eye on the front, but I can not see anything suitable on the back of the motor .Any ideas?

    All fixed I put a sling through the rear of the exhaust manifold
