Funny you say that a work college from a while ago had a ****an on Lpg .
His car would run **** at highway speeds as the air rushing into the snorkel would make his car lean out on mixture .
His fix was he made a shield in front of the snorkel head which solved his problems :angel:

I have a MANTEC Snorkel and water in the airbox or filter hasn't been an issue at all since its installation (I do check my filter regularly because the TD5 airbox and filter are woefully undersize) My airbox has no drainage since closing off the two ports, ie the one in the cyclone thingy and the other on the floor of the box beneath the filter. I did however install the snorkel head so that pipe intruded into the head by 10 to 15mm. The base of the head is angled so that any water pooling in the head drains away rearwards. BTW as for the claim that the MANTEC can suck water out of the roof gutter - nah!, no way, cant see it happening being that the gutter is 100mm below the mouth of the snorkel head.

I know of one member that had a Mantec and he did suck a heap of water in some really heavy ran, it soaked the air filter

I would have thought the D2 snorkel(Safari or OEM) would also have plenty of capacity in the side tube to hold any rain injested that gets past the head drains until it evaporated.Cant comment on others.
Saw a nice 3" mandrel bent stainless pipe on a japer today,thoght how bling would that look on a D4!!!!!!

The lpg mixer should have a port for atmospheric pressure. Iit just needs to be connected to the air filter box so it "reads" the higher pressure and adds fuel to compensate.

When we bought RichardK's RRC beast we were told either turn the head or undo the slip joint under the bonnet whilst using LPG.
It was mapped different and had big injectors for premium petrol whilst off-roading.
Wish we kept the old girl,it was a monster.

hmmmm!....... you gotta wonder how? perhaps the airbox vacuator valve in the passenger side front inner wheel guard was not functioning as it should or it was just not there (it's happened to me) IMHO there's more opportunity for water to be injested into the airbox via the wheel inner guard opening than the higher level rearward facing hooded snorkel (correctly installed of course)
