Viscous Fan
looks like the viscous fan has decided to fail now along with just about everything else on the vehicle.
I'm thinking, as a temporary measure, of drilling a couple of small holes into the alloy down the flats of the main nut and putting a couple of steel pins down and tacking them to the end of the nut (to allow a spanner to fit still)
This should fix the whole fan together as one piece (stop the fan from rotating individually)and means no viscous operation.
From what I can see this should not be a problem, but.... can anyone else see a problem that I can't
This would only be a temporary measure until I can obtain a replacement unit.
