    EKA code insert under-dash switch

As the title... i've seen few threads where the owner couldnt insert the EKA code cos the key didnt work for one reason or another so i was thinking and it's quite easy to install a on/off/on single pole momentary toggle switch in the under-dash compartment or anywhere else where it's easy to reach connected in parallel with the driver's door switch lock/unlock inputs as to be able to insert the EKA code without using the key for the cases when the key barrel or door switch doesnt work, or just to be easyer to insert... anybody interested?

not some very important thing as you dont have to use EKA every day but it can be usefull IMO exactly when it's needed and i dont see any risk for security whatsoever

Have you ever tried the internal door lock switch? Just a thought.

To use the EKA is very a tedious operation so yes I'm interested.

NB: Thanks steve_a, it also had occurred to me recently to perhaps tap a remote reed switch into the internal door lock switch circuit and so be able to unlock the doors from outside the vehicle by way of a magnet.

IMO it's very simple, see RAVE- Electrical library - Connector views for the connectors, they are under the RH kick pannel, you have to splice with wires into C0733 pin 10(blue/grey wire) and C0744 pin 5(blue/green) (the wire colours must be those cos it's possible that the pins to be mixed) bring the wires where ever you want the switch.

A momentary single pole on/off/on toggle switch is needed, something like this 5 x Mini Momentary (On)Off(On) Toggle Switch Car Dash SPDT | eBay ... there are versions with screw connections it's just for example.

connect a ground from body to the middle terminal and the two wires each to a lateral and remember that the wire from C0733 -10 = unlock and C0744-5 = lock... eventually make a label to know which is which... then for EKA code you just have to switch between lock and unlock according to the procedure simple as that

THE DRIVER'S DOOR MUST BE CLOSED WHILE THE SWITCH IS USED FOR EKA
