    Plasti Coated D2 alloys

IMG_0621.jpgIMG_0625.jpgIMG_0617.jpgSo after much indecision I finally took the plunge and sprayed my alloys over the weekend. I then went on to use black bumper spray on lots of other bits and ended up de-caroming pretty much the whole truck. Has all turned out really well, and being a white colour has really made her look good.

    They look really good!

How many cans did you use and how many coats did you throw on?

I was thinking a spray on bed liner would be good if you found you were having problems with peel and rim rash, thoughts?

Got it all from Bunnings. The plasti-coat was $21 and used a can and probably could have used a bit more, but topped up with Duramax, matt black spray $11.

Used two cans of that, sprayed the wheel arches, roof-racks, parts of the front bumper, side-stripes, wing mirrors, rear number plate thing, rear bumper and have half a can left over. Not sure how well the plastic would peel off, but as I was spraying, once I realised it was going to work, I was happy to use the Duramax over the top.

Might well need to do a top up every now and then, but nothing yet. I used de-greaser and a good scrub on all the alloys before starting. Masked off as best as possible, but the overspray all came off with some turtle wax and elbow grease. Hope this helps and good luck
