    Suspension upgrade

    Hi all,
Looks like my thread got axed!
    So I'll start againSuspension upgrade
Looking to upgrade coils and shocks

Looking at EFS elite shocks and standard coils or
IronMan with pro foam with standard coils
    Pros and Cons??

Before post was axe some members suggested bilstein shocks but a little out of my price range
    Also Monroe gas magnum

What about Lovell? Any good? Aust made?

    Thanks

I've got Dobinson springs and Bilsteins at 50mm lift. Great combination.

I did run Lovells dampers on the old D1 once. Never again. The body of one of the shocks separated from the mount.

Ironman tend to run too much damping so the ride is a bit on the harsh side.

I put EFS on my green one and the ride was terrible,, luckily some 18 year old **** with a mobile phone stuck to their face wrote it off.. she'd had her brand new XR5 for 3 days--

I had a pair of Pedders Red on the rear and the bush wore out. I replaced with Land Rover shocks. A much better ride.

For an awfully long time LR shocks were just oil,, right up to my 93 D1 and any D2 would be hard pressed to out travel my swaybarless Rossi..
speed and repetition are the only reason for gas in shocks...

Another option would be to reinstall the SLS system that was removed by the previous own, I can probably get the components if the guy still had them?
Would it be worth the hassle and be better then just coils?

I put medium OME springs all round & matching shocks. Smooth as on dirt. Haven't done any serious off road yet.

The previous owner had removed the airbag system. I've got Old Man Emu medium which is a 40mm lift from standard. Matching Old Man Emu Nitrochargers. Happy so far. Currently buying an off road camper, so we'll c how they go with the camper on the back
