Yeah, I think I may have to go for this option - the spring conversion kit is cheaper than new air bags, and I think I'll still be left diagnosing computer/compressor issues after I replace them

I had my bags and compressor checked at the Landrover workshop and even had a new solenoid fitted But I continued to have dramas with the air suspension, I'd had a gut full by the end of it and the springs were the easiest and most reliable option for my needs.
Springs all fitted this avo!
wow, 7 days ownership, then two asking questions about a problem and you bailed on a great system,,
Have a great time with your coils. [smilebigeye]
Haha it may just be "bailed for now" Pedro - I think this was the cheapest quick solution, I may revisit the air springs when funds allow! (Already getting it in the neck for buying a car that has issues a few days layer)!
Take your time to do the research and maintenance,, piston overhaul kits are available, new air filter, seperate in-line valves to run without the compressor,
it really is a much better way than coils,, [biggrin]
If anyone else does the coil conversion, in order to stop the battery going flat you need to remove and tape up the earth wire C0811 (this is the middle of the 3 earth points next to the battery - the one without the nut attached). Unplugging the compressor alone doesn't stop it. However, this will set off the warning chimes when travelling over 30km/h - this can be stopped by unplugging the electrical connectors to the ride height sensors. Hopefully(!) I won't get another flat battery!
Considering these vehicles are getting on approx anywhere from 13-18 years old, I think the airbag system is pretty reliable. The compressor rebuild kits are avail at a reasonable cost, a couple of Branded airbags say $400, then then enjoy the ride comfort etc for another upteen years
