I assume you've tried locking the car with the fob, unlocking and tried to start? My disco very occasionally need this to start and gives these symptoms.
pippin made an offer to come to yours with diagnostics , might be an idea to take him up on it'
Crank position sensor, I assumed someone would have piped up with that pretty early.
The ATF will probably have soaked it, remove and clean with brake cleaner and refit.
A standard OBD reader will probably read the error for you as well, it's part of the standard fault codes.
I would agree with CPS, if everything else checks out, particularly if there is fuel pressure and it cranks well. An easy fix from underneath the car, and make sure that the loom to the CPS hasn't been damaged.

That is CAN (Controller Area Network) it transmits information from the EAT (Electronic Automatic Transmission ECU to the ECM and visa versa. There is also an Error "CAN Level Processing fault present and continuous" While I'm not expert in this area I would suggest using switch cleaner on all the external auto connectors that may have been contaminated. Also check again the XYZ switch. I'm still not sure that these faults stop the engine starting more than the once allowed with some faults but maybe so.
