    Original Fuel settings in ECU?

    Hi you technophobes out there.

I know the feeling and indecency of using someone else's work to set up your computer and I agree.

BUT, and here's my but, can anyone help me in resetting my ECU to standard or close to it?

I have had a video from Jose (but it, the video, has disappeared) for reading the map from the ecu, I can read it but not find out how to store it in a/the map folder.

I do not feel like it is stealing to get the original readings to start over.

My main problem is overheating when under load, I have read temps with Nanocom and they are fine until under load going up hill.

It is possible that I have a head gasket problem or it could be over fueled. I'm hoping over fuel rather than head off!

    Ah well

    Mike

You will need an SD card with the original map on it.

AFAIK , TD5 INSIDE save your original map in a database and can email it to you.

You save it on an SD card then load the map into your ECU.
If you want to save the modified map, you have to save it to an SD card, as per the Nanocom instructions.
This assuming you have an EU3 engine.

Nanocom have a tool, nancom map wizard, which contains all (or at least most) of the standard maps. Download the tuned map/view in nancom and make a note of the swdex.... map name, then grab it from the tool.

You can also view your tuned map once downloaded in TD5 map editor and it automatically loads up the base map (i.e. standard one) and tells you what it should be.

Sorry to be a bit off topic but better try to stop the viscous fan with a rolled up magazine when the engine is hot before you alter the fuel map cos if you can that's your problem, also if you have EGT gauge and that is normal then IMO you have a problem with the cooling system not with fuelling cos if the engine overheats due fuelling the EGT should be up in the sky
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
