A/C AND HEATER FAN HAS STOPPED WORKING

Looking for some advice, suspect I wont be be happy with the fix, but here we go.

Driving home the other day and the A/C fan stopped working for a few seconds, then came on again. The next day I started the car and no A/C fan at all - has not worked for a week since.
I have checked the fuse under the drivers side dash, all good. I can hear a relay switching on the passengers side when the fan is turned on and off.
Am I correct in saying the fan unit needs to be replaced?

Any advice would be appreciated, not that I ever need the heater in Central Queensland, but I can tell you the A/C is used 12 months of the year!

Have not connected the Nanocom to the car, should I do this first? I would suspect it will not tell me much as the relay is operational.

    Thanks in anticipation.

A few years back I had a problem where the Air Con, stopped working. I can't remember the specifics of the problem now, of the top of my head.
After checking fuses, blower fan working when removed and power put to it, checking relays etc. It ended up being a poor solder in the fuse box under the drivers side dash. A bit of work to get it out, but not too hard.
There is an old post in here some where regarding my air con issue.

Probably the big power plug To the fan motor
    Go to passenger footwell
    look up at motor
Find two inch power wires exiting motor
    Find big plastic plug
    wiggle it
pull apart and check for burning or poor contacts or melting
    these things burn out
lots of power here so poor connex causing oxidation burning melting etc
    let us know
    enjoy anyway winter is coming
    cheers

I'm having the same issue. I took the fan out today and hard wired to to 12volts and it runs so the fan is good. Checked for voltage at the connector and have 11volts when full speed is selected, 9.3v on slowest speed.
However voltage to the fan disappears when the 2nd row blower is turned on (this has stopped working at the same time)

Fuse is good as is power to the blower, if it was a "fuse box issue" how could that be. Or is it just a generic answer?
