    I like your idea of silver PhillipA and might just give it a go. Especially as it makes a temp diff inside. Sounds worthwhile. I'm a crappy painter but hoping it can't look worse than this:

    Bonnets a different story. Not as bad but more visible. Bat poo may be an explanation, had not thought of that. Has gone deep.

    You will have to really attack that with a sander and basically take the rest of the clear coat off and then use high build primer, as yours is right through the clear coat in places.

    My clear coat was intact but was going milky.

    You can get a good finish with cans but everything depends on the preparation.

    I got my roof and bonnet repainted for $ 1200.00 a year ago. I'n very happy with the result , It makes me more proud of my car.

    $$$$$$ About what I had expected. This frugal Disco owner not about to spend that. Thanks for the info. It would certainly posh up the old beast.
