Well I managed to disconnect the damn couplings. Took a bit of effort though, even after I understood how they work. They should go back on pretty easily.

I found this strip of square section rubber sitting on the chassis when the radiator was removed and I can't work out where it is supposed to be positioned when I put the radiator back in. Any thoughts?

I think your right ballbag, I can't find it in RAVE or Microcat.
Glad I went back and checked the oil galleries on each rocker. At least a third of them were totally blocked. A #30 drill bit sorted that out.

Before you bin it, just check it's not used to prevent air blowing around, rather than through, the radiator, or to seal around part of the fan shroud.

I think the foam strip used to live along the top front of the radiator, it would have been self adhesive originally.

Glad u got them all out.
I had 2 that would not come out.
Water had slowly leaked down the threads from the slow water leak.
They would come out about 2-3 turns and that was it.
Even after squiting loob down there and waiting every day and trying aggain, forward turn back turn etc like a tap.

I must say the D2 has been the worst HG to replace have every done.
I really hate those strechy bolts.

AFAIR they are supposed to have pinchweld at the top and down the sides of the radiator to seal . I guess someone wanted something thicker. The pinchweld shaped like 0=.

    You've got to love RAVE:

"6. Position ignition coils, fit bolts and tighten to....." Only took me and hour to fit the bolts.
"7. Ensure clip under ignition coils is located on fuel pipe." HOW? You can't see it from any angle. If it's not located, TOO BAD! And I'm pretty sure it won't be.

    Ok, I feel better now.

LOL, when I bought my D2 the previous mechanic? /Owner just left the coil dangle behind not been fastened. Ff you lie across the top of the motor then it's easier to get to them. I sed a pice of paper toweeling paper to jam the bolt head into the socket, nothing worse that when those buggers fall down and you can't retrieve them.
    Regards, Mario
