Hi mate. You are very welcome. My engine had only done very low kilometres which probably helped. I used a rag with CRC gasket removal spray and in some places very careful use of a sharp blade. I also used degreaser on pretty much everything. I didn't clean the valley itself though. Cheers

I replaced a set of Thor injectors earlier this year and they were indeed hard to get out. None could resist my persuasive ways though but some of the old o-rings were damaged in the process. Pull firmly and rock them from side to side and they'll come out.

However, I broke two 16mm sockets trying to get the head bolts undone. One sidchrome the other a cheap Repco one which just flared at the end. I'll be taking that one back as I only bought it this morning. Might have to find a 3/4" drive instead of 1/2"

Mate 1/2 inch is fine just need a black steel impact socket from Tradetools and a nice longish (1.5 to 2 feet) bar and smooth progression of torque. The factory set on the stretch bolts is tight! Cheers

All good, $10 from Total Tools. Sidchrome too.
Time for another question, what are all these parts for that came with the head kit?
If one of those O-rings are meant for the inlet manifold coolant return pipe, then it's too big.

Bundled VRS kits for Rover V8s are not model specific they tend to cover all the V8s,, the D2 V8 has an extra gasket for the upper to lower intake manifold, so you often find some extra parts in them that you don't need. Regards, Mario
