Well each to their own personally i would not want something like that hanging out of my sump
I know the pro`s but in my opinion the cons out way any benefit for the sake of changing oil , As i said id rather deal with a stripped sump plug in the driveway at home than the possibilities of this going wrong in the wrong environment .
In my opinion if you have or are worried about stripping your sump plug - Should you be doing the job in the first place

Look at something like a Stahlbus or similar - theres another thats more compact of you like.. When you want to drain you screw on a hose fitting and the oil cleanly and easily goes directly into the container and nowhere else!

The Stahlbus comes with a 'Race Cap' option which can be secured once attached to prevent coming loose.

Ouch!!! Personally never had a problem with them, mind you I don't do the Canning Stock route on a weekly basis or hard core off-road, they work for me, just an option.

Heli coil is what I done has been done for about three year no problems I left the sump in place made sure the sump plug hole was clean and free of oil. I used lock tight let it set then flushed the sump with about six litres of cheap oil then filled with the oil I always use (nulon 10-40) I do have a spare sump but I think I will sleeve the sump plug hole before it goes in.
