    R380 O/P shaft collar removal

    Hi all,

Has any one removed this collar without using the LRT-37-009/010 tools? If so, any tips?

After replacing both the gearbox O/P and T/C input seals as well as intermediate shaft o-rings, it has (after about two weeks not leaking) started to leak again from the little drain hole, especially after a long run. i am confident the gearbox seal seated OK (i used the rolled up plastic and vaseline method....)Now i'm thinking the collar may have needed replacing as well

    Any advice appreciated.

Unusual to be the collar , did you use corteco seals? also could be transfer input seal leaking as its easy to damage unless using guide bolts to refit the transfer case , if you do find it to be the collar then you should be able to hire / borrow a hydraulic puller which will work but they are really tight on the shaft, good luck with it.

Actually, turns out only the T/C seal was Corteco. The gearbox seal was a Bearmach product of India. Have you had trouble with other seals before?

Ended up using a genuine seal. Been in for a month now, and no leak.

Then again, maybe i took more care this time
