chirping crickets are not the most annoying sound, but this is.
I've got a noise in the cabin of my TD5 that sounds like a cricket chirping its head off. It only happens in the evening when i come home from work. If I slam the glove box when driving it will stop for a second but then comes back. AND it stays there when I get home and turn off the motor. Its driving me insane.![]()

Do those things have a little fan in the dash that sucks a little air in for the climate control to monitor cabin temp?
Is it a cricket?

Yes just to the right of the steering column.Do those things have a little fan in the dash that sucks a little air in for the climate control to monitor cabin temp?
A vacuum cleaner with a bit of hose duct taped to the end will clean it out.
But it could be the heater fan with a dry bearing, although judging by how cheap they are , they hardly ever fail.
of course could be some gum leaves in the fan attempting to play Waltzing Matilda. I have had a ball point pen in mine.

Heater fan for sure , mine does it. Goes away if I run the fan on 2 or more.
