Not an expert, but I reckon this gives it away:
Differential Lock - Selectable Differential Lock Mechanism [027CE];
Can't speak for South Africa, but I believed all D2a were CDL.
Could anyone help with a VIN decode for me please.
I'm looking at buying a parts car. It is a little weird, its a south african imported car. 2003 D2a. It has no passenger side airbag it has the handle like the D1s. For that model, I think the CDL was an optional cost item.
I have the vin SALLTGM333A817430
extract gives me
Transmission Rating - Uprated Transmission [108AA];
Differential - 2 Pin Differential [027AS];
Transfer Box Linkage - Cable Linkage [105AA];
Territory Packs - south african territory [075CH];
Differential Lock - Selectable Differential Lock Mechanism [027CE];
My question is: Does this have the CDL?
the car is a few hours drive away and the owner isnt certain. I don't want to waste my time driving down otherwise.
cheers
Clint

that was sort of what I was thinking.
the UK cars, which is essentially what they got in SA, had the CDL as a cost option up until July 2013. I do'nt know the exact build date. But I think given that, it is most likely CDL. Or was the facelift model after july 2013

See if he can send you a photo of the transfer box lever and label, that should be good enough to ensure the drive is not a waste of time.
