    Is there any particular reason the D1 linkage can't be used?

    I think the objection is that being rod rather than cable operated, it transmits more noise to the cabin.

    I was lucky enough to score a complete D2 one complete with the hens teeth sticker but I paid $490 for it.

    I think it depends on the year of D1 - I believe the pre updated D1's do not work, but later D1's will.

    You should have the internals fitted to your transfer case, do you know how to check? Is it worth it, CDL and TC ? you bet.

    As long as you use the manual linkages on the manual & Auto linkages for an Auto.
