The gaskets are o-rings. If you go to the trouble, and be prepared for a fair few hours of trouble, cursing and bad language, of getting the pump out, best just ditch it and replace it with a new one.
The tools that may become your best friends are 1/4 and 3/8 sockets with appropriate rigid extension bars...... Make sure you have all the other gaskets, including centrifugal filter drain pipe x 2 on hand, and a new oil filter, before you start... The job took me a full day in the end, and rework on the oil drain gaskets.
Hopefully you won't find what I did, after being assured by seller that "water pump was done last year". It might have been last year, but all that was "done" was it was stuffed with silastic, and was FUBAR in the drive and seal department......
